Comparou-se o emprego da ração à vontade e limitada na produção de marrãs em regime semi-extensivo.O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos casualizados com dois tratamentos e seis repetições, com total de 12 animais da raça Duroc-Jersey.Após 240 dias de provas concluiu-se que:— Não houve efeito significativo dos métodos de arraçoamento no que diz respeito ao número de leitões nascidos e peso da leitegada ao nasce r.2 — Houve efeito significativo no número de leitões desmamados P<0,05, peso da leitegada na desmama P<0,001, bem como no número de reprodutores por leitegada P<0,00l, quando os tratamentos passaram a ser controlados.3 — Os resultados obtidos aconselham o tratamento A (à vontade) somente durante o período de gestação.4 — Durante o período de lactação, quando administrada controlada- mente, a ração À não traz vantagens economicas em nosso meio.

It has been studied the effect of feeding (countrol and ad libitum) in the swine production.Experimental procedure was in randonized blockes with 12 DurocJersey gilts at an average weigth of 91,5 kg, with 6 replications and 2 treatments. When the selts reached 100 kg and 8 months of age, they were fecundate and the experiment was begun to meet on respective treatment.After 240 days it can be concluded that:1 — The treatments did not have significant effect on the number and the weigth of pigs born.2 — However, had significant effect ou the number weaned pigs (P < 0.05), weight of new pigs (P < 0.001) and the number of selecionated reproductores (P < O .001).3 — Only 1,5% of the pigs born of the A treatment was used in the reproduction in contrasted 13% of the B treatment.4 The resulteds obtained sugget that rations with 67% N . D . T. and high fiber, at dont the influence in the number and weigth of the pigs bom, when ministred “ad libitum”, however the afirmative don’t is valid for lactation period.
