Sistema de coleta de sêmen de touros, com vagina artificial, usado no Centro de Inseminação Artificial de Itapetininga.
Resumo
No Centro de Inseminação Artificial de Itapetiniriga, de 26-XI-1951 a meiados’ de 1952, foram feitas 120 coletas de semen em 7 touros de várias raças e idades, utilizando uma vagina artificial em que a água quente’ foi substituida, vantajosamente, por ar insuflado no momento da introdução da verga. O novo método apresentou vantagens práticas, em confronto com o processo corrente. Outras observações estão sendo feitas com referência aos efeitos sôbre os reprodutores.

Abstract
Inbltapetininga Center õf Artificial Insemination 120 coliections of semen were made from 7 bulis of several breeds and ages, during the time elapsing between November 26, 1951 and the middle of 1952. In this work an artificial vagina with insufflated air was used instead of hot water. The ‘air was intróduceci in the vagina just before the introduction of the penis. This new method has shown several pratical advantages in comparison with the hot water method.
